Shopify + WhatsApp

The WhatsPilot-Shopify integration connects your e-commerce store directly to WhatsApp, turning customer conversations into sales and support actions. When a customer places an order, their phone number syncs automatically, enabling personalized order confirmations, shipping updates, and delivery notifications — all through WhatsApp. You can send abandoned cart reminders, recover lost sales, and keep customers informed at every step without manual effort. The integration pulls real-time order data from Shopify so every message includes accurate details like product names, quantities, and tracking links. For support teams, incoming WhatsApp messages from known customers show their order history, making it easy to resolve issues faster. This two-way sync works in the background, updating order statuses and customer profiles seamlessly. Whether you run a D2C brand, a multi-store operation, or a dropshipping business, the Shopify integration turns WhatsApp into your most effective sales and support channel.

Setup Guide

Set Up the Shopify Integration in 5 Steps

Follow this guide to connect Shopify with WhatsPilot. No coding required.

1

Connect Your Shopify Store

Go to the Integrations section in your WhatsPilot dashboard and click 'Connect' on the Shopify card. You will be redirected to Shopify to authorize the connection. Log in to your Shopify admin and approve the permissions — WhatsPilot only requests read and write access to orders, products, and customers.

2

Configure Sync Settings

Choose which data to sync: orders, customers, products, or all three. Set the sync frequency (real-time or every 15 minutes). Enable auto-import of customer phone numbers so new Shopify customers are automatically added to your WhatsPilot contact list.

3

Set Up Automated Messages

Use the Templates section to create WhatsApp message templates for order confirmations, shipping updates, delivery confirmations, and abandoned cart reminders. Insert dynamic variables like {{customer_name}}, {{order_id}}, {{product_name}}, and {{tracking_url}}. Each template must be pre-approved by WhatsApp.

4

Map Order Status to Triggers

In the Workflows section, create automation rules that map Shopify order statuses to your WhatsApp templates. For example: when order status changes to 'fulfilled', send the shipping confirmation template. When status changes to 'delivered', send a feedback request. Each workflow can include delays and conditions.

5

Test and Launch

Place a test order on your Shopify store to verify the automation flow. Check that the customer receives the correct WhatsApp messages at each status change. Review the activity log in WhatsPilot to confirm data sync is working. Once verified, activate the workflows for live orders.
